For most people working 9-5 jobs, it is not because they do not have those brilliant ideas, it is mostly having the fear of the unknown and to be quite blunt it is also the fear of having any conflict of interest with their current employer.
Perhaps it is time for companies to question their policies, in all fairness, because employees are regulated to disclose their outside business activities. However, in considering having multiple streams of income while having a daily job, the onus lies on the employees to ensure that their daily jobs are not neglected in any way nor is their contractual agreement with their employer contravened. On the other hand, the ever-inflating rates mean things are more expensive, but that is not the only drive. Having multiple income streams means you are eager to work hard, are fired up, agile in support of the digital nomad lifestyle, and driven to build towards your goals, not only because you cannot survive. Surely employers want overperforming employees with the drive to continuously develop themselves in the organization and even outside the organisation.
So, is the answer to diversify? Do not get me wrong, investors do not put all their money in one investment. Additionally, while the talent pool is in search of the best fit for their organisation, multitasking and hardworking are the most common skills that are looked for, so surely it should not be such an awful thing to have your day job and run your hustle, simultaneously. One good thing that transpired from the COVID-19 pandemic, is how creative people got to be, and reality kicked in where people realised the importance of implementing their subconscious creativeness.
